This is what a lovely local pub should be like. Dog friendly, roaring fire, friendly locals and staff who couldn't do enough for you. Would recommend.

A truly excellent pub, friendly staff lovely beer, food is freshly cooked and excellent. Great to talk to the owner as well, I hope that they do make this their last job before retirement as they fully deserve to succeed.

Called in on our way home from a weekend away and they accommodated 4 adults and 3 children for Sundar lunch even though we hadn’t made a reservation.
Very helpful friendly landlady and staff .
We all had the Sunday dinner and it was one of the best Sunday dinners I have had out in a very long time ,beef cooked to perfection chicken and ham also went down well ,homemade Yorkshire pudding and the best cauliflower cheese ,the kids portion was huge and my grandsons age 4,3 and 1 who are food snobs and love there vegetables enjoyed it special thanks for the small pot of extra grated cheese for one of my grandsons to put on his cauliflower cheese ,very reasonable in price would highly recommend .

The Roos Arms is a traditional village pub. There is a good range of beers, lager and cider, including 2 hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The cask ale was excellent when I called in. There is a nice bar and room next to it with a pool table. Up some steps at the front, there is another room mainly for meals, which are served Thursday to Sunday. There is covered outside seating and a beer garden. A nice welcoming pub, also dog friendly.

We visited the Roos Arms for the first time as a party of three for Friday evening at 18:30. We had made a reservation in advance. When we arrived the car park and pub were full to bursting and we had to find parking on the road.
The pub was noisy with music and chatter, a pleasant surprise compared to some pubs which are often empty and lacking atmosphere.
Despite making a reservation it wasn't checked. We were a party of three but two of us arrived before the other and we were taken to a table for two. After explaining we were expecting another party, we were shown to a table in the back room which had to be laid for us.
The waitress explained it was unexpectedly busier than usual which probably explains the quite slow service. Staff were very polite and helpful when you saw one.
The menu is basic. Don't go expecting a big choice because there isn't one. Having said that, what we ordered was good, the starters being better than the mains. The majority of the main courses were fried.
Towards the end of our evening the crowds had dispersed and we got talking to Caroline, the landlady. Who apologised for putting us in the back room. That hadn't been an issue at all though.
We finished our meal sitting in the main pub area, with coffee by the fire.
The pub is on several levels with steps to each. If you have mobility problems this could be an issue. I walk with a stick and did struggle.
We all had one soft drink, a starter, main and coffee and paid £28 each.
